5 wks and counting...knitting slowing down

I fear that I am not producing knitted items as fast as I once was. The expecting-baby chores are increasing and my knitting is suffering. I am still working on my shildren's size regia socks. I'm almost to the toe decrease. This is the first pair that I have yet to try to match up the stripes. I doubt my nephew will care. He has already put in a request for a face mask for a winter hat.

i can't wait to buy more yarn!!!

Ants

Oh yeah.
My cubicle is infested with tiny ants!
Talk about making me feel as though I have a dirty cube!
I never thought of myself to be unclean and still beleive that I am a clean person but I'm getting a complex.

more socks

So my hands are sore.
Full size socks on size 2 DPNs takes it's toll on my hands.
I wish that I could find more colors of self striping yarn in sport weight so I could use bigger needles. (I refuse to order yarn cuz I'm too impatient)

My toddler sweater is coming along. I was at the end and ribbed a bit but it came out incorrect so I have to tear it out and do it over.

My knitting time has lessed due to having a baby shower thrown for me, school shopping and lamaze. The Baby Boy is coming soon! About 6 wks left.

A fellow knitter gave me some advice: don't knit too many baby socks cuz they will get peed on. Good thought Chris!

My baby bunting in sidar snowflake is non-existent due to my hatred for the yarn. It is terrible to work with. I can't see my stitches! Maybe it will be used for a baby blanket but now I'm running out of time. I still have to knit the matching hat with the opal sock yarn that I used for the sweater and sock set. I'm hoping for this to be the outfit that we bring the baby home in. We'll see if it fits :)

I still have to make a nice hat with fingering weight yarn for my love and Red Sox socks for my brother before christmas. With my first child on the way and work I am not sure if I will get them done in time.

We still have furniture rearranging and cleaning to do. I have one more baby shower being thrown for me. I can't wait to see my relatives!

I'll get to show off what I have been knitting as well.

Last night my love cleaning the bathroom and made me a nice bubble bath with candles and the flowers that he bought for me the other day. He turned down the bed and created a nice and relaxing atmosphere for me. I have a lot of thinking to do about my birth plan....

So I stray from my blog topic of knitting and I apoligize. My life is overtaking my obsession with knitting for now.

Knit on!

shoe size to sock length

I came across this link on the SocknittersSAM yahoo group that I just joined.

http://www.brannock.com/conversion.html

I haven't tested it yet but I will soon. It would help when I want to surprise someone with a new pair of homemade socks.

opal lolipop yarn

Here are my latest socks in opal lolipop yarn. Size 2 dpns are hard on the hands but they have knitted up quite fast. I found the opal yarn to be a bit smaller than the regia that I used for the first adult pair using the same pattern. Luckily I am looking for them to be for a smaller foot.
